Regular exercise is simply essential for a totally healthy body, mind, and spirit; including your skin!  This isn’t new information or a surprise, yet still so many of us can’t find the time or energy to make exercise a regular part of our life.  But we really should.

There’s simply no way your skin will look its best unless regular exercise is incorporated into your skin care routine.  This is because physical activity offers your skin so many benefits including:

Improved Circulation

Most know that exercise helps your heart and circulatory system because it improves circulation.  Many don’t know though that the skin requires a certain level of circulation to stay healthy as well.  When you exercise the skin is provided with an increase in blood flow as well as well as oxygen in order to promote better health overall.  Also,  these benefits will last long term and allow your skin to be better equipped to fight the effects of aging as well as environmental stress, free radicals, and simply look and feel healthier.

Decreased Stress

Stress can have a lot of bad effects on the skin and the body as a whole.  We know it’s important to reduce stress but how?  Exercise is a great way to reduce stress levels and combat the negative effects of the stress you do experience.  Stress can cause intrinsic aging that shows up sooner or later on your skin. Also pigmentation irregularities like dark circles are also common in people who are regularly stressed.

When you exercise though, especially if you do so regularly, you’ll notice you feel much less stress after exercise.  In fact, as soon as you feel stressed, if possible get out for a walk, do some yoga, or engage in a physical activity to help de-stress; your skin and the rest of your body will thank you!

Enhanced Sleep

Yes, you sleep better the more active you are.  This isn’t just because you worked your body hard.  Its also because when you exercise you increase the production of endorphins and as a result, the body is able to enter into a more restful stage of sleep more easily.  How does this help your skin?  If you don’t sleep well, your skin will show it, your stress levels will be higher, and you simply won’t be able to look your best.

All of these benefits of exercise do one major thing for your skin – they help it look its best no matter it’s age.  You’ll find that exercise also keeps you younger looking longer, and gives skin a healthy glow too.

The benefits of regular exercise for your skin and your body as a whole are boundless.  So, what are you waiting for? Start moving today!
