While there may not be a cure for Rosacea, many professionals are successful in managing this condition successfully.

Rosacea is a common and often embarrassing illness. It involves reddening of the face, and sometimes the neck and chest, even the eyes in some cases. Rosacea may or may not be present with acne. Rosacea is most common among fairer skinned people and often targets those of northwestern European descent. While there is a hereditary component to Rosacea, it appears mostly women who develop the condition, although men can have problems with Rosacea too; in fact one of the most famous individuals with Rosacea is Former President Bill Clinton.

While doctors aren’t exactly certain what triggers Rosacea, exposure to temperature extremes and cumulative sun damage play a significant part, as do things like strenuous exercise, stress, drinking alcohol, eating spicy foods.

Of course, we can’t control “all” of the triggers of Rosacea, but patients can make themselves more comfortable by avoiding their own personal triggers by maintaining a diet avoiding things such as alcohol, spicy foods etc., and avoiding extreme temperature changes that can often exacerbate the condition. Hot tubs, saunas, and extremely hot showers should be avoided as much as possible as well. Using a high quality, daily sunscreen is essential. Jan Marini Anti-Oxidant Daily Face Protectant with SPF30 or Dr. Schrammek’ Optimum Protection Cream SPF30 are 2 most calming/effective sunscreens that offer protection as well as anti oxidants and soothing agents for this sensitive skin condition. Both go on smoothly, feel great, and can be applied before your makeup. Our Rosacea patients are quite impressed with these 2 products.

Beyond preventative measures like sunscreen and avoiding triggers for Rosacea, the best skin care product we’ve seen so far for managing rosacea is Dr. Schrammek’s Rosea Calm Cream. This fabulous and effective cream uses plant and herbal extracts to strengthen small blood vessels and combat inflammation while the green pigments conceal redness and provide a more even tone for your skin. You may follow with a moisturizer if needed.

Some cases of Rosacea are also present with acne, in this case Dr. Schrammek Blemish Balm is the most soothing tinted option for healing while minimizing redness and inflammation. It is also available in many tints (classic most popular) for all skin tones. Dr. Schrammek Skin Care moisturizers and treatment products utilize many plants and flower extracts that offer remarkable healing properties when many Rosacea sufferers cannot use other products.

While Rosacea can be a difficult illness to deal with, now, as a result of these fantastic and effective skin care products, you can find some relief from the effects of Rosacea.
